Watch Live: U.S. Steel Bald Eagle Cam

The eagles nesting at U.S. Steel's Irvin Plant in West Mifflin have laid three eggs this season, and hundreds of people are watching as they hatch.

USS 8, the first of the season, was hatched overnight on March 27. USS 8 is the eighth successful hatch at that nest.

This new eaglet comes from Irvin and Stella, the eagles nesting near the Irvin Plant. While it's the sixth season for dad Irvin at the nest, there's a new female this time. Stella is replacing Claire, who left the nest late last year.

In June of 2024, the first flight of the eaglet in the nest at Irvin Plant was caught on camera. Lucky, the eaglet, took flight along the Monongahela River in West Mifflin.

According to the Audubon Society of Western Pennsylvania, eaglets around the area grow up fast. They usually leave the nest in mid-summer and keep coming back until their parents eventually kick them out.
