Still breezy but mainly quiet tonight in Maryland
Wind was the work of the day on Tuesday, with a wind advisory being issued ahead of some powerful (even damaging) winds in Maryland.
We saw some wind gusts over 50 mph in multiple areas of the state: BWI-Marshall (52 mph), Westminster (52 mph), Sabillasville (58 mph) and Hagerstown (55 mph) to name a few. Fells Point reported a maximum wind gust of 50 mph Tuesday afternoon, as well. Damage was reported in a few counties due to the strong winds.
Winds ease a bit tonight but will pick back up later in the morning. We don't anticipate the winds to be as strong for the midweek. Winds may gust as high as 30-40 mph.
Wednesday will be the chilliest day of the week. Temperatures stay in the mid to upper 50s through the day. It'll be another brisk, however dry, day. If you're heading to the Orioles home game Wednesday evening - layer up.
A gradual warming trend begins Thursday. Sunshine gives way to increasing clouds and high temperatures in the lower 60s. We'll finish out the week with a chance of spotty rain Friday. Warmer temperatures and a few showers are in the weekend forecast.
The WJZ First Alert Weather Team is tracking scattered storms this evening and will keep you updated.
