It's become an annual March Madness tradition at CBS Chicago, pitting our city's best eateries in direct competition in a foodie bracket challenge. We did pizza, we've done Italian beef. This year, we got snappy.
In our pursuit of finding Chicago's Top Dog, we took your nominations for the Chicago institution serving up the most delicious hot dogs, and arrived at the following brackets!
From there, we took it to the polls! You can see the way the votes shook out in the entries below, but for those looking to find out the ultimate winner, look no further.
After fending off a championship round challenge from Portillo's, our voters determined that Superdawg is truly Chicago's Top Dog, as voted on by you!
Championship Round: The All-Beef 2
We started with 16 and now we're down to our championship round.
In one corner stands Superdawg, who has fended off challenges by Hot Dog Heaven, Home Depot's hot dog stand and, most recently, The Wiener's Circle.
In the other corner is Portillo's, which held off The Little Island, Jimmy's Red Hots and Byron's Hot Dogs.
